Elisabeth Shue injured; Roger Rabbit 2 D.O.A.?
Film set to be 'hollow' due to Shue injury
According to The Hollywood Reporter this morning, Elisabeth Shue recently suffered a very serious Monday when she tore her Achilles tendon while working out at a gym. Reports signify that this could deeply impact her starring role in Director Paul Verhoeven's The Hollow Man for Columbia Pictures, presently in production, with the possibility being that she might have to be replaced with another actress. However, the report goes on to state that the film will likely halt production temporarily while she heals, as they are already 8 weeks completed, and it would likely be too costly to reshoot her scenes with another actress. According to PK Baseline, lensing began on April 26 in Los Angeles & Washington D.C., and was scheduled to end in early August. The report stated that there are 16 more weeks left in the shoot, which really doesn't add up. I suspect that they were at the
halfway mark, and actually have about 8 weeks left to go on principal photography. Just how long the "brief delay" will be has yet to be determined. The Hollow Man, also starring Kevin Bacon, is slated for a Summer 2000 release.
UPDATE: Late this afternoon, Cinescape Online confirmed that the production was 8 weeks into only a 16-week production, as I has suspected. They also added that the production plans to shoot around Shue for the next three weeks while she recuperates from her reattachment surgery yesterday good news for everyone involved, no doubt.
No more Roger Rabbit? Pl-pl-pl-please say it ain't so!
An anonymous scooper to Coming Attractions has reported that the long-planned Roger Rabbit sequel/prequel has been canned, citing escalating animation costs and lack of support by Disney executives over the most recent version of the script. Robert Zemeckis has long been attached to this project as an Executive Producer, as have Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, with Marshall supposedly also helming the director's chair this time out. Hopefully, Disney will see the err of their ways and will put this project in turnaround.
Dormant official websites discovered at

In my recent discovery of the fact that the domain names for the two upcoming BTTF sequels had been reserved by individuals outside of the films' production, I also uncovered several official websites for upcoming films by the BTTF cast & crew. Most of these sites have no content whatsoever and go absolutely nowhere (mainly due to the fact that the film hasn't even been made yet), while others link over to their respective studios' main website. Regardless, these are the addresses where an official site for each respective film will eventually reside, so bookmark these for future reference:
BTTF4/5 update coming soon
In case you're wondering, I'm told BTTF4/5 is progressing along quite rapidly. We've received some very detailed information regarding these two films in the past few days, however, our scooper isn't quite ready for the information to be released yet. As soon as we're given the OK to run with the news, it will be posted here quicker than a bolt of lightning. Stay tuned...
