September brings “Spin City” 4th season

Mike tries to remember how Heidi Klum ended up spending the night with him when he really loves Nikki, on the season premiere of ABC's “Spin City,” Tuesday, Sept. 21

"Catcher in the Bronx" — There's mayhem for Mike at home and at work. Picking up from last season's cliffhanger ending, Mike tries to remember what events led supermodel Heidi Klum (portraying herself) to spend the night in his bed, even though he loves Nikki. At work, Mike must hire a campaign manager for the mayor's senatorial bid and rejects every worthy candidate, including James Carville (who also portrays himself). But when the beautiful yet inexperienced Caitlin Moore (Heather Locklear) interviews, Mike thinks he's found the perfect, non-threatening protegee. Meantime, all New York is in an uproar after the mayor inadvertently ruins Roger Clemens' perfect game; and Paul pays Stuart to take a life insurance physical on Paul's behalf, on the season premiere of Spin City, Tuesday, September 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
Entering Spin City's fourth season, Michael J. Fox and a talented cast provide a sophisticated ensemble comedy, filmed entirely in New York City. Michael Flaherty, Deputy Mayor and right-hand man to Mayor Randall Winston, expertly keeps his co-workers and City Hall under complete control while his personal life often spins completely out of control. With a staff of wildly diverse characters consisting of a neurotic press secretary, a gay activist in charge of minority affairs, a chauvinist chief of staff, a highly efficient accountant, an idealistic speechwriter and an intrepid Mayor's assistant, it's hard to believe anything gets done.
This season, viewers will learn how Mike and Nikki's ever-evolving relationship changes and how Mike deals with his new nemesis (Ms. Locklear). Stuart and Carter continue their "odd couple" living arrangement — Stuart loathes Carter's geriatric, suicidal dog, Rags, and Stuart's domineering and crude girlfriend Deirdre repels Carter. In addition, James faces new responsibilities at the office, and Paul's loyalty is divided between Mike and Caitlin.
Starring are Michael J. Fox as Michael Flaherty, Heather Locklear as Caitlin Moore, Barry Bostwick as Mayor Randall Winston, Connie Britton as Nikki Faber, Richard Kind as Paul Lassiter, Alan Ruck as Stuart Bondek, Michael Boatman as Carter Heywood, Alexander Chaplin as James Hobert and Victoria Dillard as Janelle Cooper.
Guest starring as themselves are Heidi Klum, Chris Berman, Roger Clemens and James Carville. Also guest starring are Stacy Ann Logan as the nurse and Chuck Bunting as the fan.
Spin City has garnered numerous honors, including two Golden Globe nominations, a People's Choice Award and a GLAAD Media Award. Michael J. Fox has received two Golden Globe Awards, three Emmy nominations, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a People's Choice Award and an American Comedy Award for his work on the series. Spin City is produced by UBU Productions and Lottery Hill Entertainment in association with DreamWorks Television. The series, which is filmed before a studio audience, premiered Sept. 17, 1996.
