Fox poised to bring home 4th Emmy?

Hill Valley News Briefs

Not much new to report this week on the progress on the sequel(s), but I am expecting to hear something later this week from my source with the latest.  Meanwhile, there's lots of activity on other projects by the cast & crew to report.
First of all, the Emmy Awards air Sunday, September 12 on Fox, and Michael J. Fox is up again this year for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series".  The current issues of Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide both predict Fox, who is also slated to be a presenter,  will be the winner this year, taking home his first Emmy Award for Spin City, and his fourth overall (he won three Emmys for Family Ties — 1986, 1987, and 1988).  This is Fox's third nomination for Spin City, so let's hope the third time's the charm.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Billy Zane has recently dropped his agent at ICM and signed with Sam Gores of the Paradigm Agency, and has also enlisted a new manager, Eric Gold of the Gold/Miller Company.  THR reports that he continues to be repped by entertainment lawyer Richard Hume.  Not sure why the drastic change, but perhaps Zane is looking to find more mainstream projects now.  His latest film, I Woke Up Early the Day I Died opened in limited release last Friday in New York.

Project updates
DUETS:  According to Variety, this Huey Lewis starrer has found distribution through Disney's Hollywood Pictures, and will be released sometime early next year.  The film was also Executive Produced by Neil Canton.

MINORITY REPORT:  Our friends over at Corona's Coming Attractions have been reportling lately that Steven Spielberg may be losing interest in directing this Tom Cruise vehicle, and that several production people have been let go to move on to other jobs.  Now with the recent reports that Spielberg may be taking on Stanley Kubrick's A.I. project, last week's rumors about Minority Report could actually be the case.  USA Today, however, reports that Spielberg is not actively working on A.I., but is indeed prepping Minority Report as well as the long delayed Memoirs of a Geshia, both of which he plans to direct.

THE PALACE OF VERSAILLES:  Apparently, Robert Zemeckis piled too much on his plate, and is having to cut out several projects now.  According to In Hollywood, this 1960's family drama has been shelved for the time being, and Zemeckis will not be producing it as he originially planned.
