Michael J. Fox in “Jurassic Park III”?

Fox reportedly seen on presently filming sequel's set in Hawaii

Over the weekend, a very interesting report began circulating the 'net, originating from the folks over at the C.H.U.D. website.  What began as a hint that someone big who previously had worked with Steven Spielberg would have a role in the new Jurassic Park sequel presently filming in Hawaii, has now fleshed out into a name we all know.

the dinos don't look so fakeCorona's Coming Attractions reports that the actor is noneother than Michael J. Fox.  According to the report, Fox was recently seen "hanging around" the set.  So far, it's not known whether or not Michael was just visiting the set or if he's making a cameo appearance in the film.

Is it true?  I have no idea, but I do have my doubts though.  We've heard JP3 casting rumors before that turned out to be false, haven't we?  As you may recall, a report surfaced earlier this year that Elisabeth Shue and Helen Hunt had been cast in the sequel, but as expected, that turned out to be completely untrue.

Filming just began less than a week or so ago, and Fox was obviously in Los Angeles this past weekend to receive his first Emmy award for Spin City.  Seemingly, the odds are against the possibility that he's in the film, but who knows for certain?

Perhaps Fox was throwing us a hint in his acceptance speech Sunday night at the Emmys — "Thanks. It's been a great ride, and stay tuned".  Stay tuned, indeed we will.  Making it clear that he wasn't retiring from acting, and asking "forgiveness" for Mars Attacks! (the last film he's been seen in since Spin City began four years ago), perhaps Fox feels the need to prove himself on the big screen again. BTTF.com has received confirmation that Fox is indeed set to film a small role this month in Bob Gale's small budget feature Interstate 60, reuniting him once again with Christopher Lloyd (although we don't know for sure that the pair will share any screen time yet).  Fox is expected to join Gale very soon in Toronto to shoot his part for the film, which is slated to wrap principle photography in late October.  Since he is set toserve as Honorary Chairman of The Parkinson’s Unity Walk 2000 on September 24th in Los Angeles, he may be shooting his part for Interstate 60 in late September.

Fox also confirmed his involvement in Stuart Little II Sunday night backstage, and we already know he's the lead character in Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire, so there's no doubt that he's got his plate stacked pretty high already.  Guess we'll just have to see if he'll be battling dinosaurs too.

Jurassic Park III is presently filming in Hawaii, including an Army base in Oahu.  After the first three weeks, production is slated to continue at locations in Southern California and on sound stages on Universal Studios' backlot.  Universal plans to release the big budgeted sequel on July 18, 2001.  [Thanks to "SNL1VE" and  "docbosch" for the tip!]

Project updates

Crispin Glover in BartlebyBARTLEBY:  Dark Horizons posted this photo today of Crispin Glover in the title role in the independent film Bartleby, based on the Mellville short story by the same name.  Not much is known about this film at this time, nor when it will be released.  With Glover's recent return to doing more commercial films, this one could get lost in the shuffle.   [Originally appeared on the My Poisoned Wife website.]

DON JUAN:  Billy Zane will star in this romantic adventure in the title role, slated to begin shooting on location in Spain on October 16.  The story tells how after five years of dutifully romancing women, Don Juan returns to his hometown to settle a score with his archenemy and prove that he has seduced more women than his rival.

Kids World starring Christopher LloydKIDS WORLD:  Christopher Lloyd stars in this fantasy film about a young boy who discovers an ancient wishing stone and wishes away all adults and teenagers.  Lloyd portrays "Leo", a mentally-challenged man who is the only adult left unaffected by the actions of the boy's wish.  The film is slated to hit theaters sometime in October.  [Thanks to Pete for pointing the way!]

SULTANS OF AFRICA (a.k.a. WILD AT HEART 2):  Crispin Glover is quite busy these days.  It appears that he's signed on to this film, which is a sequel to the 1990 film Wild at Heart.  Glover will apparently reprise his role as "Cousin Dell" in this story that follows the lives of the characters from the first movie.  No word yet as to whether any of the other original cast including Nicolas Cage will also sign on.

TRUMPET OF THE SWAN:  Mary Steenburgen recently wrapped shooting on this live-action (?) film based on the E.B. White ("Stuart Little") book about a mute swan who finds his own voice after being given a trumpet by his dad.  The film also stars Seth Green, Joe Mantegna, Jason Alexander, Carol Burnett, and Reese Witherspoon.
