Robert Zemeckis & Bob Gale attending BTTF screenings at USC

Q&A with the famed filmmakers to be recorded for DVD

According to flyers recently posted on the campus of USC, a Q&A session with Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale following a screening today of Back to the Future will be recorded for Universal's upcoming DVD release of the timeless classic.

Thanks to a frequent poster to our message board who happens to be a student at USC's School of Cinema-Television, we learned late yesterday that the school will host a screening today of Back to the Future at 1:00 PM PDT.  Following the screening, a Q&A session with Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale will take place as part of the school's Summer Production Workshop.

According to reports we've received, the Q&A session with Zemeckis & Gale will be recorded specifically for the DVD release later this year, reportedly scheduled in mid-December.  The screening and Q&A is open exclusively to USC students, staff, faculty and alumni who sent an RSVP by email before May 22.

Thanks to a BTTF.com staffer currently attending classes in Southern California, we've been able to confirm these reports through USC's campus operator.  The operator also revealed that a screening of Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III will take place next week on May 28, showing at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM respectively.  Another Q&A session with Zemeckis & Gale will take place immediately thereafter.

Apparently, these screenings and Q&A sessions will serve as the filmmakers' commentaries for all three films as reported here a few weeks ago, however noting the omission of Michael J. Fox who is scheduled to be in New York tonight (8:00 PM EDT) speaking about his autobiography at the 92nd Street YMCA.  As you may have seen on CNN yesterday, Fox was in Washington testifying in a Congressional hearing about Parkinson's funding.  It is not known at this time whether Michael's commentary will be recorded separately at a future date or not.

Emails earlier today to the USC Spectrum resulted in the following information, confirming the contents of the campus flyers:
