Universal Australia announces official R4 specs

Additional features, 5.1 surround / 5.1 DTS, Anamorphic Widescreen included

Universal Pictures Australia has issued a press release, complete with bonus features for both DVD and VHS as well as technical specs for the Region 4 release of the Back to the Future Trilogy.

Thanks to our friends over at Michael D's Region 4 DVD Info Page, we've obtained the first Universal press release for the highly anticipated worldwide release on DVD and rerelease on VHS.  As reported earlier, the Region 4 release is set for August 21, 2002.  The folks at EzyDVD.com.au have also posted new preliminary artwork for the release.

The full press release from UPA can be obtained here (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).  You'll see that a few corrections and additions have been made to the press release from the specs we received two weeks ago; noteably the addition of trailers, mention of the fact that the release is widescreen with 5.1 audio, the Hoverboard test IS on BTTF2's disc, and that "The Secrets of the Back to the Future Trilogy" is exclusive to VHS.

Stay tuned for further details coming for other international releases, as well as the U.S. announcement. [Thanks to 'Michael D' for his contribution to this story!]
