Final R1 DVD specs revealed

Menu screens from Trilogy set hit the web

The final specs for the highly anticipated December 17th DVD release for The Back to the Future Trilogy have finally been revealed, with a few surprises.

Yesterday, DavisDVD.com scored a major scoop by publishing the first look at the menu screens to all three films for the U.S. DVD release.  At the same time, we received a full listing of these bonus features from an anonymous tipster, complete with a listing of all deleted scenes for each disc.  Features indicated in blue text are exclusive to the Region 1 release:

You'll notice from this new list that there are a few new deleted scenes we were unaware of, and several new features that had previously been unannounced. It's interesting to see that the Huey Lewis & the News video will appear on BTTF2 instead of BTTF1 (space limitations, no doubt), and that the Makeup Tests (previously thought to have been omitted) actually did get included (presumably though, without any Crispin Glover takes).

I'm not sure at the moment what the four "Designing" features entail, whether they're documentary-type video or still photography, but I'm sure we'll know soon.  BTTF.com has been promised an early review copy of the set, so my review will be forthcoming soon.  Stay tuned...
