Superstation TBS to run “Future” marathon in November

First time back-to-back-to-back broadcast

Atlanta — For the first time ever on broadcast television, Superstation TBS will air all three Back to the Future™ films sequentially in a matinee marathon on Sunday, November 28.

Fans of the films who do not yet own the Trilogy on DVD (previously released on December 17, 2002) should get their TiVos ready — the Saturday following Thanksgiving brings Hill Valley into living rooms across the country beginning at 8:45 AM EST.

Back to Back to Back MarathonAs any long-time time-traveler can attest, broadcast rights in the U.S. to all three films have never been owned by a single company at any given time.  Over the past two decades, the films have only run solo or as a pair on ABC, ABC Family, Encore, HBO, NBC, Sci-Fi, Stars, TBS, TNT, and USA, among others.  Fans have long clamoured for a television airing of all three films in order, and TBS has finally stepped up to deliver the goods.

TBS is not currently slated to show the films again in proper order, so BTTF.com advises fans wanting a made-for-television edit of the films that they should take full advantage of the one-time network airing.  Additional airings of all three films will ensue during the same 24 hour period (before & after the marathon), however, they will not air in sequential order.

Reps for the channel could not be reached for comment.

BTTF Trilogy Marathon Schedule:
Back to the Future (1985) 8:45 AM EST
Back to the Future Part II (1989) 11:15 AM EST
Back to the Future Part III (1990) 1:30 PM EST
