They have purchased a huge card for Michael to be sent for his Birthday in June, and they are trying to get as many messages for it as they can. This is not limited to only fan club members so if you would like your message on Michael's huge birthday card then send it to FiloFox Fan Club as soon as you can.
To participate, follow these instructions: Cut plain white paper to exact size 2" x 4" (5cm x 10cm), write on one side only in blue or black ink. Send it to the address below together with one 20p British postage stamp, one 33¢ US postage stamp or one International Reply Coupon. They will stick your message into Michael's card. Martian pulls in impressive weekend box-office returns
As I had predicted, Christopher Lloyd's "My Favorite Martian" fared quite well at the box office this past weekend. With estimated returns for the four-day weekend of $11.1 million, I'm sure Disney is quite pleased with the results. February is usually a dumping ground for films that studios don't quite know what to do with or how to market them. The film wrapped principle photography way back in late 1997, and then collected dust over a year before Disney decided to finally release it. I caught the film over the weekend, and enjoyed it thoroughly, and I'm glad to see that audiences agreed with me. I wouldn't be surprised to see the film reach upwards of $50 million, and if that does happen, I suspect that Disney would consider a sequel due to the way the film was left open for one. Lloyd's "Uncle Martin" is a wonderful combination of "Doc Brown" and "Uncle Fester", and certainly adds to his huge
portfolio of memorable characters.
"My Favorite Martian" kicked off "Christopher Lloyd Month", which will be followed by Lloyd's highly anticipated appearance on "Spin City" February 23. After that, tune in to NBC on February 28 for Lloyd's performance in "Alice in Wonderland" as the "White Knight". And March 12 wraps up the month by bringing Lloyd back to theaters in "Baby Geniuses" as the devilish "Dr. Heap", reteaming him in a sense with Kathleen Turner ("Jessica Rabbit" from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?).
