Roger 2 near?; DMC--The Next Generation?
Stay tooned for Roger Rabbit prequel
According to Coming Attractions, the Roger Rabbit prequel is in active development. Roger Rabbit 2, also known as Who Discovered Roger Rabbit?, is rumored to chronicle Roger's adventures as he heads out to see the world and arrives in Hollywood, where he is discovered as a star. The film will be executive produced by Robert Zemeckis, and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Marshall, who directed the live-action portions of the shorts Tummy Trouble (1989) and Roller Coaster Rabbit (1990), is attached to direct.
DeLorean "sequel" finally headed out of the plant?
People Magazine's 25-year "Special Anniversary Issue" (March 15-22, 1999) has a small blurb on page 259 about John Z. DeLorean. The magazine confirms that DeLorean is indeed working on the "DII" automobile long rumored to be the next generation to the 1981-83 automobile we've all come to love and adore. The "D2" (a.k.a. "Firestar 500") has long been planned by DeLorean, previously quoted elsewhere that the cars would be rolling off assembly lines in late 1999, after obtaining financial backing by some Japanese investors. While that is very unlikely at this point, it still is an idication that the 74-year-old carmaker is still moving forward with his plans.
Spielberg tiptoeing through the Tulips?
According to yesterday's Studio Briefing, Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks have purchased the rights to the novel, "Tulip Fever". Spielberg wants to direct a film based on the book himself for DreamWorks.

Robert Zemeckis continues to pile his plate high with film projects. According to In Hollywood, Zemeckis will produce the film Jubilee for his production company, ImageMovers, in association with DreamWorks. The comedy is now in development, and will be distributed by Universal. No plot details are available at this time.
