Eric Stoltz footage to be included on DVD?

Whoa! This is heavy...

We're hearing some reports now that there are some serious talks by Universal to include some of the infamous Eric Stoltz footage on the upcoming Special Edition DVD release this Fall.  According to the DVD File website, one of the reasons for the latest delays in this long-awaited release is that Stoltz is not a happy camper about the footage being released, and so now there's questions as to whether or not this footage will actually be included or not.  You'll definitely want to check out the following links on their site for updates on this highly anticipated release.
Having recently spoken with reps at Universal Studios Home Video, I can confirm DVD File's report that the disc won't be released until sometime this Fall.  [Thanks to the guys over at DVD File for the links and kind words about our site!]

Bronfman making more changes at Universal

Edgar Bronfman Jr.'s been popping up everywhere these past few days.  Last night, he was interviewed on CNN's Moneyline News Hour, in regard to Wednesday's announcement that Universal Music Group and BMG Entertainment were combining forces to become what they call “the No. 1 music destination on the Web.”, having formed getmusic.com to rival other top music vendors on the web.  Universal Music, which now represents 27% of the music business after the recent PolyGram purchase, stands to gain big points in the merger.  Today's Variety reports that Seagram's stock is up to $59 a share after yesterday's announcement.
Yesterday's Studio Briefing also announced that Bronfman plans to unload Universal Concerts, in a deal similar to the recently announced Seagram sale of the remaining PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and October Films properties to the USA Network
As these sales and mergers continue, who knows where all this will leave Universal's film & theme park ventures.

Have Superstation, will “Time Travel”

Apparently, Superstation TBS is venturing more into original broadcasting these days.  According to Cinescape Online, TBS will produce a new sci-fi telefilm called Time Travel, about a tabloid journalist who discovers photographs of the same unknown man at every major disaster in history.

What's Lea up to?

With the 4th season of Caroline in the City winding down, Lea Thompson is usually known to take on a television or cable project during her hiatus.  Although there's been no word yet exactly as to what her plans will be, I speculate that she's going to end up doing some kind of film work with her husband, director Howard Deutch.  Howie's been quite busy lately lining up film projects for himself.  He has just signed to direct Keanu Reeves in the football comedy The Replacements, which is expected to start shooting this summer.  Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that he would also be directing the big-screen adaption of Family Affair — (yours truly feels that she'd be the perfect "Cissy").  NBC has not yet announced it's Fall schedule, and there's been rumors that Caroline may not be renewed for a 5th season.  Lea's not been mentioned yet to be a part in either film, but given the fact that the husband & wife duo have a long track record of working together certainly lends the possibility that we could see Lea on the big screen again in the near future.

Mary in a Titanic-sized project

Mary Steenburgen will be seen soon in the NBC adaptation of the Biblical account of the Flood, Noah's Ark (May 2-3).  Cinescape Online recently quoted her as saying that it the mini-series will be "funny and fun....like the Bible meets Monty Python meets Shakespeare".  Can't say that I see the humor in the death and mass destruction of the world, but it should be quite interesting nonetheless.  Given what I've read about the mini-series so far, the producers takes many liberties in expanding upon the Biblical account of Noah's life.  Just one of the liberties taken is the fact that Steenburgen portrays Noah's wife, "Naamah".  In actuality, Noah's wife's name is never stated in the Bible.

Fox vs. Spielberg update

The Mr. Showbiz Pageant is now in its third day as of this writing, and Steven Spielberg came out on top yesterday in the "Brains" category.  Michael J. Fox was voted a close third, just behind Tom Hanks.  Today's category to vote on is Talent, which we know both our guys will continue to score high in.  Keep those votes coming in!
