Funny month ahead for “Spin City”; Offspring video fueling sequel talk?

Month-full of laughs at “Spin City” headed our way in May

Here's a look at the final four episodes of Spin City for this season, airing every Tuesday in May.  I've been told by many fans to keep an eye out on Michael's desk, as it now displays that cool photo of Michael and Owen (Christopher Lloyd)!  Well, sure enough — check out the photo for the May 4th episode, as the photo is just to the left of Stacy's head!  [Thanks to ABC Media for the photos and summaries.]

May 4, 1999:  "The Mayor With Two Brains"

A New York Times Magazine cover story about Mike ends up being a profile on Carter, prompting tension between the two. Meanwhile, the pressure of keeping mum about Mike and Nikki's relationship gives James a horrible rash, and Stuart convinces Stacy to play diplomat with the Mayor's foes.

May 11, 1999:  "Wall Street"

Jon Stewart (The Daily Show) guest stars as Mike's stockbroker, Parker, in this episode in which Mike tries to teach James a little fiscal responsibility. But when James selects a volatile Internet stock for his initial foray into the market, Mike secretly holds off on investing — and must come up with a bonanza when the stock soars. Meantime, an action figure of the Mayor is too much of a good thing.

May 18, 1999:  "Klumageddon," Part I

Supermodel Heidi Klum returns, portraying herself for the two-part season finale of "Spin City." The mayor enlists Heidi to help publicize his new animal rights campaign. But working with Michael brings out the animal within, and Heidi tries to rekindle her romance with him while Nikki's sick at home. Meantime, Paul and the mayor try to enliven their press conferences with stand-up routines.

May 25, 1999:  "Klumageddon," Part II (Season Finale)

Supermodel Heidi Klum guest stars as herself in the cliffhanger season finale of "Spin City." In the second of her two episodes, Heidi is determined to come between Mike and Nikki's relationship, and a misunderstanding causes Nikki to think Mike will dump her. Meantime, the mayor is deaf to Janelle's attempts to break up with him; and Stuart gives Rags away to Heidi without telling Carter.

Offspring video causing some BTTF sequel talk?

Today's edition of Coming Attractions finally picked up the story about the latest video by The Offspring ("Why Don't You Go Get a Job?") being filmed on the Universal backlot, prominently featuring the famous Courthouse Square.  Although they seemed puzzled as to whether the set was the actual one, or one that resembled the famous setting, there's no doubt whatsoever that the video was shot on the Universal backlot.  Several MTV VJ's have even brought up the subject of Back to the Future when introducing the video.
Will the video spark any talks of a fourth film?  Who knows, but there's no arguement that when the new Trilogy CD sountrack gets released this Summer, and the DVD/VHS/LaserDisc release/re-release finally happens this Fall, sequel talk will be fueled heavily by the new exposure the series will receive.  Besides, next year is the 15th Anniversary, and if we can ever get Universal and/or DreamWorks to commit to a date for FutureFest, sequel talk will fill the space-time continuum!
