Deadly Games debuted on UPN September 5, 1995 and ran through January 9, 1996.
A tongue-in-cheek sci-fi adventure about the interactive universe gone berserk. Mild-mannered scientist Gus Lloyd (James Calvert) has a hobby that allows him to blow off steam: he designs video games, and bases his bad guys on people who bug him. But a freak accident occurs, unleashing the sublimely sinister Sebastian Jackal (Christopher Lloyd) and his minions on the real world.
A quarterback who throws missiles. A mother who shoots killer icicles. A boss who fires deadly pink slips. Video game villians like this don't come to life everyday...Just once a week.
#2: "One Mean Mother" September 12, 1995
"He doesn't know how to be nice, and she's as cold as ice...and so are their victims". Jackal enlists the aid of "Evil Shirley" -- who happens to be patterned after Lauren's mother -- to plant a bomb on a cruise ship that Lauren's real mom (Shirley Jones) and her fiancé Hank (Marty Ingels) are sailing on. They're video game villains come to life.
#3: "The Boss" September 19, 1995
Jackal and the evil video version of Gus' first boss, Mr. Metcalf (LeVar Burton), plan to blow up a gasoline tanker -- with Lauren's ex-fiancé behind the wheel.
#4: "The End of Jackal?" September 26, 1995
Gus and Peter manage to erase all the bad guys from the game -- except for the Jackal, who's "a little cranky" and decides to take out his ire on the institution of the family. He also wants to be rid of the Cold Steel Kid, once and for all.
#5: "The Camp Counselor - Part One" October 3, 1995
Just when Gus thought it was safe, Jackal exercises his power from within the computer, sending the "Perfect Woman" (Kathy Ireland) into the real world, followed by Gus' sadistic childhood camp counselor (Anthony Michael Hall), who plans to blow up a Marine base with a rocket. #6: "The Camp Counselor - Part Two" October 10, 1995
Conclusion: Gus rescues Lauren from her imprisonment, but in the process releases Jackal and the other bad guys -- including the evil camp counselor Chuck (Anthony Michael Hall), who embarks on a mission to blow up the marine base commander. General Barnicke: Charles Cyphers. Amber: Kathy Ireland.
#7: "The Practical Joker" October 17, 1995
Danny Schlecht (Brent Spiner) enters a new character into the game who (a) plants a bomb in Gus' VCR, (b) drugs Lauren and Peter and puts them in a compromising position, and (c) meets Jackal -- who's not sure how to treat this new villain.
#8: "The Car Mechanic" November 7, 1995
In the midst of a wicked heat wave, Jackal throws a monkey wrench into Gus' life in the form of car mechanic Ross Logan (Mark Pellegrino), who aims to derail a train; meanwhile, Det. Dorn (Sam McMurray) gets closer to the truth about the game. Russel Marcus: Ed Byrnes. Terri: Janet Gunn.
#9: "The Divorce Lawyer" November 14, 1995
Gus is shocked to learn that the latest villain is Lauren's divorce lawyer, currently charged with 10,000 volts and aiming to electrify the Supreme Court Justices' chairs, unless Gus and Lauren can ground the amped-up attorney first. Courtney Lake: Victoria Rowell.
#10: "The Motivational Speaker" November 21, 1995
A slick, motor-mouthed motivational speaker (Dwight Schultz) spells trouble when he drives a wedge between Gus and Peter, then embarks on a nefarious plan to poision the New Year's Eve ball at Times Square.
#11: "The Trash Man" January 2, 1996
Gus and Lauren face the Trash Man (Mike Starr), a maniacal sanitation engineer toting tanks of radioactive goo, whose goal is to destroy all the romantic locales the couple have frequented. Mr. Porcaro: Richard Minchenberg. Vegas Bob: James Harper.
#12: "Dr. Kramer" January 9, 1996
Gus has an unexpected appointment with "Dr. Kramer" (Christopher Neame), a crazed dentist who plans to pump lethal amounts of laughing gas into a comedy club where Lauren's comedian-friend Phil (Jerry Stiller) is attempting a comeback.
