...to "Universal Studios Hollywood", for the world's very first Back to the Future convention! Plans are currently under discussion for a two-day fan extravanganza for Future fans to gather for the first time ever at historic Universal Studios Hollywood, home of the Back to the Future saga. The date has yet to be determined, but is planned to take place in the year 2000 to coincide with the 15th anniversary of this amazing trilogy!
In addition to meeting and mingling with the stars and creative personnel behind the adventures of Marty McFly & Doc Emmett L. Brown, a series of events and attractions are planned for the weekend.

A star-studded opening of Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park to commemorate "Back to the Future Day", starting with a celebrity ribbon-cutting ceremony and press conference. This press event will be held at the main entrance of Universal Studios Hollywood, where convention goers, park guests, and CityWalk patrons can all gather to participate in this historic event. Select stars will arrive driving the original DeLorean time machine. |

On Saturday, a family-style barbecue will take place at the famous Courthouse Square where a lightning bolt struck the clock tower, sending Marty McFly back to the future and into the hearts of millions of fans. Look-a-likes of Marty and Doc will be on hand for photos. And speaking of one-of-a-kind photo opportunities! Doc Brown’s most famous invention, the DeLorean Time Machine, will be parked in front of the clock tower for your chance to get your picture in one of Hollywood’s most famous cars! The guests will be taken by tram to the Metropolitan Streets, through the gates to "Lyon Estates" and let off at Courthouse Square. Four different food stations will be set up to represent the distinctive styles, clothing and foods from the time periods seen in the Back to the Future films. |

On Sunday, an evening of 50's style dining and dancing takes place at "Back to the Future Plaza" in front of Back to the Future...The Ride on Sunday night. A great opportunity to meet with Future fans from around the world! Sci-Fi music maestro Neil Norman & his Cosmic Orchestra will perform music from Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, E.T. and other sci-fi and fantasy favorites, as well as music to dance the night away! |

The Hill Valley Historical Society has gathered the largest collection of authentic props, costumes, and other memorabilia from the Back to the Future trilogy. You’ll never see anything like this in the future. (Or the past!) |

Also in the planning stages is a back-to-back-to-back screening of all three Back to the Future films as they were meant to be seen on the big screen! This event will be included in the ticket price for "FutureFest" attendees, but tickets can also be purchased by anyone interested in attending this special screening. |

Since 1885, the buying and selling of goods helped build Hill Valley, and FutureFest carries on that tradition by presenting a huge Dealer’s Room. Memorabilia dealers from around the country will be here to sell their Back to the Future, Star Trek, Star Wars and other sci-fi, fantasy and entertainment merchandise! Universal will open its own "Blast From the Past" shop with a line of "Back to the Future" and "FutureFest" merchandise in the Dealer's Room. Other shops will be set up in the park and at the Courthouse Square Picnic. |
