Is 'Back to the Future' Really Headed to Broadway? Don't Buy Those Tickets Just Yet!
by Stephen ClarkFebruary 3, 2012
The internet was abuzz Thursday following the Deadline report that Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale and Alan Silvestri are in early talks to bring a stage production of Back to the Future to Broadway. Entertainment Weekly followed up the report by stating that a rep for Zemeckis confirmed to the magazine that the trio are in "preliminary creative discussions" to produce a musical adaptation of the film.

It's been a busy week for Back to the Future since this news comes on the heals of a supposedly leaked Super Bowl commercial for Bud Light featuring the DeLorean time machine (now being blocked by NBC/Universal for copyright violations) and the first photo of Mattel's upcoming Hot Wheels 1:43 scale DeLorean at the NY Toy Fair. Wanting clarification on the Broadway reports, we went directly to the source by reaching out to Bob Gale for comment.
"Don't believe everything you read on the internet," stated Gale. "Last year, it was a remake starring Justin Beiber. Nevertheless, we're glad that BTTF continues to generate so much internet chatter!"
