Cambridge, Mass. Elisabeth Shue is leaving Cambridge.
Shue, who earned an Oscar nomination for Leaving Las Vegas, was among the thousands who donned caps and gowns and graduated from Harvard University on Thursday.
Shue was one semester short of earning a political science degree when she dropped out of Harvard 15 years ago to start her acting career.
Her brother, former Melrose Place star Andrew Shue, was in the audience at graduation, along with her husband, film director Davis Guggenheim, and their 3-year-old son, Miles.
The new degree doesn't mean a change in career. Shue's newest film - Hollow Man, a science-fiction thriller starring Kevin Bacon - opens July 28.
