Los Angeles Pat O'Brien (Access Hollywood), Brooke Burns, (Dog Eat Dog), Nancy O'Dell (Access Hollywood) and Joe Rogan (Fear Factor) will celebrate the holidays as hosts of NBC's brand-new broadcast of The Blockbuster Hollywood Christmas Spectacular. The NBC special is an hour-long presentation of The Blockbuster Hollywood Spectacular, A Holiday Tradition, (formerly Hollywood Christmas Parade) and airs on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 from 7-8 p.m.
Mickey Rooney will lead The Blockbuster Hollywood Spectacular, A Holiday Tradition in a spirited procession down Hollywood Boulevard as this year's Grand Marshal of the parade.
In addition to the traditional holiday-themed floats, countless marching bands and nearly one hundred celebrities parading down Hollywood Boulevard, audiences will see spectacular movie based entries:
- Disney's Aladdin-A Musical Spectacular (Disney's California Adventure)
- Back to the Future Float (Universal Studios Home Video)
- xXx Stunt Spectacular (Columbia TriStar Home Video)
It is recommended that audiences arrive at Hollywood Blvd. by 4 pm for the 6pm parade start. Tickets for grandstand seating can be purchased at Ticketmaster locations or, on December 1 at the corners of Hollywood & Orange and Hollywood & Highland.
Since 1929, the Hollywood Christmas Parade has been a time-honored holiday tradition for Southern California residents and more recently, for television viewers throughout the world. The annual event is produced and staffed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the second largest chamber of commerce in the City of Los Angeles with more than one thousand members. Michel Papadaki, of Consolidated Film Industries serves as Parade Chairman for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Peter Schlesinger is the Producer. This year's event will be December 1, 2002, 6-8 pm the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
