Jeffey Weissman, who trained at the American Conservatory Theater, was selected by the filmmakers of Back to the Future to take over the role of George in the two sequels after Crispin Glover decided not to return to the role. Jeffrey was working at Universal Studios Hollywood at the time peforming daily as Groucho Marx, Stan Laurel, and Charlie Chaplin. He has also made guest appearances on television shows such as Saved By the Bell, Dallas, Max Headroom, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Chip and Pepper's Cartoon Spectacular, and Divorce Court.
