Claudia Wells
"Jennifer Parker" (1)
REAL NAME: Claudia G. Wells BORN: July 05, 1966, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia EDUCATION: American Conservatory Theatre.
CLAUDIA WELLS portrayed Jennifer Parker, Marty McFly's girlfriend in the first Back to the Future film. She grew up in San Francisco where she studied opera and dance before turning her attention towards acting. Her lovely soprano voice won her many performances with the San Francisco Opera. She also studied at the famed American Conservatory Theatre and performed with the San Francisco Dance Theatre.
In addition to appearing in such shows as Family, Simon and Simon, Trapper John, M.D. and Fame, she had co-starring roles in the TV comedy series Off the Rack and Fast Times. The latter was the television series spin-off of the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High, for which she portrayed Linda Barrett, the role originated by Phoebe Cates in the film version.
But while she took over a role originated by another actress, her best-known role was given to actress Elisabeth Shue in Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III. It is not known exactly why Claudia did not return to the role of Jennifer for the two sequels. While many stories and rumors abound, the fact remains that she was only one of two cast members who did not return to do the sequels (Crispin Glover was the other).
Claudia Wells dropped out of the spotlight around 1987 for reasons unknown, but she has recently made a return to acting, and can be seen in the upcoming film Still Waters Burn.
Claudia lives in the Los Angeles area with her son Sebastian. She owns her own clothing business called "Armani Wells" located in Studio City.
